Introducing One Thirty One Hockey

Hi, I’m Jimmy Sharrow, founder of One Thirty One Hockey.

I want to welcome you to the site and give you a bit of background on myself and how I got here and the passion that’s behind these development classes.

I’m a local. I grew up in Framingham Massachusetts, playing metro hockey and in summer elite teams growing up. I went to Cardigan Mountain School in New Hampshire, a junior prep boarding school when I was 15/16 years old. I then played out in Ann Arbor for the US National Development Program where we won the U17 championship in Winnipeg (playing for national team) before moving on to play juniors in the QMJHL for the Halifax Mooseheads where I played in 2 president cup finals out of the 3 years I was there.

My hard work paid off in 2003 when I was drafted 4th round by the Atlanta Thrashers (Now Winnipeg Jets) after turning pro as a 20 year old. After attending NHL development camps I went on to play 210 AHL games for the Chicago Wolves, Manitoba Moose, Rockford Icehogs and Victoria Salmon Kings before my love of the game took me to Europe.

Playing with the Eisbaren Berlin we won 3 League Championships (DEL) and one European Cup in which I was awarded European Trophy Best Defenseman. I went on to play for the Wolfsburg Grizzlys and in total played in 5 DEL Final series winning 3 cups over a period of 8 years.

After being based in Europe for almost a decade, I decided it was time to come home to work with the next generation to help them achieve their own goals and become the best hockey players they can be just like I tried to be over my career. With 15 years of pro insight into the game and various leagues, I felt it’s time for me to give back to the game that’s given me so much. That’s why I’ve set up One Thirty One Hockey an organisation based on three key principles of success, energy and experience offering the chance for young players to train like a pro with a pro.

The Philosophy is simple, small groups to focus on specific skills and to ensure we are developing each and every player involved with the use of technology and a hands on approach. It’s my belief every day is a chance to get better and if that’s your attitude as well then let’s not waste any more time and start working together.

I'm really excited to lead this program back home in my local area of Marlborough and I can't wait to see some local talent follow their Ice Hockey dreams to wherever they want to be.

Yours in Hockey,

Jimmy Sharrow.
